Recently I have had a series of events that have lead me to the conclusion that I am getting old. It is hard to admit, but I am getting old. Here are some of the events that have lead me to believe this.
1. I have a grey spot the size of a dime on top of my head. It has been there for a few years. Avery comes to me and says, "Dad, you have grey hairs."
I reply, "I know. It has been there for a long time."
"No. Not there. On the side of your head, it's all over."
2. Sitting on the couch with Liam. He says, "Dad you have cracks on your face." (I love their honesty).
3. I don't heal like I used to. It's pretty frustrating. I have had tendinitis for over two months on my left knee and it isn't getting any better.
4. Brooke keeps telling me I dress like my dad (no offense dad. I like the way you dress - obviously).
5. I have never been a big sleeper, but I look forward to a Sunday nap.
6. One of the kids at school asked how old I was. I said, "How old do I look?"
"38!"
Dang. I feel old.

I wouldn't worry about the comments from the students. When they guess my age, they always think that I am in my 40s. Probably because most of their parents are our age, but it seems like we have actually accomplished something with our lives...ouch, it has been a rough week.
You boys are funny, Charlie has a complete melt down on every birthday and I don't even dare tell him about his grey hairs. As for me, I don't ask my students how old they think I am, I just tell them I am 40 and they tell me how awesome I look for my age! I have to admit, I do look good for 40! :-D
I haven't noticed any grey hairs.
(But now I will be looking....j/k)
The key to looking young, I've decided, is wearing college t-shirts. Works all the time for me. ☺
Oh, Brady, just wait!
Brady, I know how you feel. I think I'm ok in the grey hair area, but each day I watch my hair get thinner and thinner...I look more and more like my brothers.
